At no time has the contribution of nutrition and its support of immunity been more relevant to today’s consumer, the industry and its future direction.

From the impact of botanical-based ingredients to the gut microbiome’s role in the immunological response, assessing their influence on immune health is the priority in this series, which features expert views on the latest innovations, research, product development and consumer insights.

The EMEA broadcast, scheduled for 28 June, blends interactive presentations with panel discussions and Q&As to bring to you the very latest in immune health and what the future holds for this category.

The 2022 Immunity EMEA Interactive broadcast event will kick off with a fireside chat between Will Chu, Science Editor of NutraIngredients.com and Ruud Albers, founder and CSO of NutriLeads who will discuss Developing the case for an immune health ingredient.

We will continue the session with a presentation by Dr. Lena Leder, Manager Science & Content at Kappa Bioscience on How do vitamin K2 and D3 complement each other…. K2 and D3 share a connection to help the body regulate calcium. They act together to reach balanced calcium tissue localization. Vitamin K2 limits the calcification of arteries, lungs, and heart and redirects calcium to the bones. This presentation will give an overview of how vitamin K2 puts calcium in balance with the help of vitamin D3. New roles of vitamin K2 are emerging, and the latest discoveries within immunity will be presented.

We will then wrap-up with a panel discussion and Q&As chaired by Kavitha Sivasubramaniam, Senior Editor of NutraIngredients.com on Post-pandemic immunity: The immune support category in 2022 and the future opportunity. The impact of botanical-based ingredients and gut microbiome’s role in the immunological response have been well documented with this focus firmly influencing industry direction. What was once a seasonal category is now established as a year-long powerhouse segment of the global industry, but how do brands stand out in such a crowded category, which ingredients and claims are consumers seeking out, what does the science say about optimising immune health, and where are the category’s white spaces in 2022 and beyond? An expert panel assembled by NutraIngredients will seek answers to these questions and more!
