The third edition in the APAC regional series will kick off with a presentation from Prof. Siew C. Ng, Associate Director, Center for Gut Microbiota Research and Professor, Department of Medicine & Therapeutics, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
We will continue the session with a presentation from Chyn Boon Wong, Research Associate at Morinaga Milk Industry on Pro-and paraprobiotics for immunity: From science to innovative solution. Immune health has emerged as a top global trend. The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the desire for immune health and has created opportunities for innovation in the dietary supplement and food and beverage space. As such, probiotics are wildly popular while paraprobiotics are emerging as another category that gains traction. Specific probiotic strains are proven to have a positive effect on immunity. Recently, emerging science suggests that consuming paraprobiotics could also enhance immune function. Better yet, paraprobiotics may have a practical advantage over probiotics. In this presentation, you will gain an introduction to pro-and paraprobiotics science, explore how they act differently, and learn where the biggest opportunities may be in immune health.
Key Learnings:
- Understanding the role of effective pro-and paraprobiotic strains in supporting our immune health
- Uncovering the solid scientific clinical evidence behind immune-supporting pro-and paraprobiotic ingredients
- Exploring how this science can translate into efficacious and innovative products that open up new opportunities for brand manufacturers to meet the latest consumer preferences
We will then wrap up with a 45-minute panel discussion and audience Q&A chaired by Gary Scattergood.
Panellists:
- Evan Hayes, Managing Director Asia Pacific, Factors Group
- Rebecca Edwards, Director of Education, Activated Probiotics
- Ewa Hudson, Head of Market Insights, Lumina Intelligence
